Mary Immaculate School, located in Lohia Nagar, Barmasia, Katihar (Bihar), is a distinguished educational institution committed to holistic child development. Our goal is not only to provide academic excellence but also to nurture strong moral values, discipline, and self-confidence among students. Managed by the Sisters of Mary Immaculate, the school stands as a symbol of compassion, service, and dedication to quality education. With a student-centered environment and modern teaching methods, we empower young minds to become responsible citizens and contribute positively to society.

Our Founder and Inspiration
The school was founded on the vision and life principles of Bishop Louis Laravoire Morrow, lovingly known as the “Smiling Bishop.” Born on December 24, 1892, in Weatherford, Texas, USA, Bishop Morrow devoted his entire life to serving others and spreading education. He believed in the motto — “To love God and to help others love God.” His foresight led to the creation of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate, a congregation of dedicated women who have committed their lives to educating and uplifting communities. Inspired by his values, our school continues to focus on love, service, and the light of learning.
Our Mission and Vision
At Mary Immaculate School, our mission is to provide high-quality education to every child, regardless of social or economic background. We strive to instill discipline, self-reliance, integrity, and leadership qualities in our students. Our vision is to build a generation that is intellectually strong, morally upright, and socially responsible. We aim to create lifelong learners who will serve their communities and bring positive change to the nation.
Curriculum and Teaching Approach
The school is affiliated with the Bihar School Examination Board, Patna, and offers classes from Grade I to Grade X. Our academic program is thoughtfully designed to balance conceptual learning with practical understanding. With experienced teachers, innovative teaching methods, and the use of technology, we create an engaging and interactive environment. Regular weekly tests, unit assessments, two term exams, and an annual exam help track student progress and build strong academic foundations.
Co-Curricular Activities
We strongly believe that learning goes beyond textbooks. To promote creativity, confidence, and teamwork, the school organizes a wide range of activities including quizzes, science and craft exhibitions, drawing and painting competitions, sports and athletics, fancy dress shows, dance, music, debates, and singing competitions. These activities encourage students to explore their talents, develop critical thinking, and build leadership qualities.
Admission and Discipline
Admissions are open for Grades I to VIII and are inclusive of all communities and backgrounds. New applicants must appear for an Entrance Test to evaluate their learning level. We maintain strict discipline to create a focused and respectful atmosphere. Students must arrive at school at least 10 minutes before assembly and participate in the morning prayer session. Any change in school timings due to special circumstances is communicated to parents or guardians through official notifications.
Fee Structure and Evaluation
School fees must be paid before the 15th of every month to ensure uninterrupted services and facilities. Along with examinations, continuous observation and assessment by class teachers and supporting staff help in understanding each student’s strengths and areas of improvement. This system ensures that learning is personalized, effective, and development-oriented.
